Week 3 Video

The Walk

I had a little bit of a difficult time coming up with this weeks video.  I figured since we needed to show different perspectives and points of view through camera angles I would create a video of a dog going for a walk.  All the video segments that are in his point of view I made in shades of gray, everything else is color.  There is no sound, so your speakers are not broken (there was too much of my voice, working with a dog is not easy).

One thing that I would like to change is I was having trouble with my camera focusing.  This was the first time I had shot video with my Nikon D3100.  Hopefully I will get better. Enjoy!

  1. I think it says a lot that so many of us turned to our furry family members for acting talent in our stories. Nice shots. Clean transitions. Very well done Anika.

  2. Clever use of black and white to distinguish the dog point of view from the human. Of course the way you shot it using the assigned angles would have been enough but adding the black and white element give the story added dimension. I also enjoyed how the we (as the dog) linger on that car driving by. Good execution of the assignment!

  3. You did a great job with this assignment - I'll bet somebody was laughing at you shooting from the dog's POV! I agree w/the clever use of B/W - good idea! Cute dog and cute man ;)

  4. The video was very well sequenced. The title was very appropriate. Perspectives are important, and angles lets the perspective experience the person's or dog's view of the world.
